For Children, Adults and Families

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches the three tools of a Jung SuWon Warrior.

One of them is awareness.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you said, “If only I had listened to myself, I wouldn’t have done that?” This is when our Silent Master also known as our inner voice or intuition is calling. However, how often do we listen to our gut feeling? Intuition is one of our greatest gifts and most valuable tools and learning how to be aware of and pay attention to it is one of the best things to learn. Our senses are constantly taking into, processing and storing information and we do this on a subconscious level so quickly and automatically that our conscious mind has a hard time keeping up. In Seven Steps to Inner Power book, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim talks about how to develop our awareness by paying attention to what our inner voice is guiding us.

She shares that, “How can you develop greater awareness of this supremely intelligent, quiet voice? Ideally, your awareness should be like a pool of still water. Light travels easily into still water, enabling you to see right into the water. However, when the wind blows and the water is agitated or when the water is polluted, you can’t see clearly what’s in it. The same is true of our minds. You can make your mind like a pool of still, clean water, undisturbed by turbulent surface thoughts, free from polluting feelings and emotions so that the light of your Silent Master can travel easily into your awareness.”

So, the next question is how do we keep our mind calm and collective? Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim also shares that often we bombarded our mind with noises in our head such as worrying about what happening in the past or what could or should happen in the future when really, we should focus more on what is happening this moment.

My big take away from here to focus more on what is happening now so I can be able to make the right choices throughout my day.
