How many times have we told ourselves that we wanted to achieve something in our lives? I

would say that this happens to all of us quite often. Whether we see a celebrity on television or

we see a stranger with something we want, we tell ourselves that I want to have that or be like

that as well.

Most of the goals we set for ourselves are goals that will require a lot of hard work, effort and

determination. Becoming successful takes time, energy and sacrifice and it is a long and rocky

road. There is a lot of work and determination behind becoming successful and it takes a lot of

drive and determination to achieve the goals in our lives.

That mentality and spirit of never giving up is taught at Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy. At

Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches us about having a

purpose and determination in our lives and striving to reach for our goals through the physical

and mental training. The first step is identifying what goals we want in our lives and then having

the determination to overcome any obstacle that may come in the way. We are constantly

practicing with our body, mind, and spirit during training and we are also learning to discipline

ourselves. The same focus and discipline need to be applied to the goals in our lives. We set

our goals and we put it on our forefront to remind ourselves of the goals we set. Even though

obstacles or hurdles may get in the way, we strive to reach that goal. Great Grandmaster Tae

Yun Kim is teaching the Jung SuWon students about having a determination that breaks

through any barriers.

Let’s all take that next step and decide that we want to achieve something in our lives and be

willing to put in the time and energy to achieve it.
